[PADA: Right, many of the cows that live are then dying of malnutrition, starvation, eating plastic bottles and other trash, and not getting sufficient water etc. No apparent process is underway to care for many, what to speak of all these cows. India needs to improve its cow protection program if it wants to make a serious statement about cows being sacred animals.
And the people who pick up the dead cows, the Dalits, are being oppressed for their occupation, and so they are now protesting and leaving the dead carcass of the cows to rot in the streets, again not helping create an image of concern for them -- or creating a system of taking care of them.
This process unfortunately happens in ISKCON, a big ministry of sannyasa and guru reform committee is created, and then the sannyasas are going to tour the Jack Daniels alcohol brewery dressed as karmis, and nothing is actually done to maintain the sannyasa standards program, its a lot of big advertising with little follow up. India can do better if it wanted to, and so could the GBC. ys pd]
