Easter Prayer from Surabhi Dasi

May the Lord be merciful unto all during these most Holiest of days, to those who deny Him, to those who criticize, to those who are cheating and manipulating His sincere seekers of faith and spirituality, and to those whom have rejected Him due to the hurt and suffering they endured by those pretending to be saintly, may the Lord forgive and embrace all.

Dear Heavenly Father, I beg you to please open your arms to the world, please forgive all as we are all merely your children lost in darkness trying our best to find your hand.

Many have and are suffering by the hands of those pretending to be saintly. These persons are dressed in traditional saintly attire and are well versed in your holy doctrines, yet they use this position for evil intent. Many are lead astray due to flowery words, promises or even by fear mongering.

Many find themselves trapped in so called 'spiritual' institutions that promote misogyny, abuse, rape, stealing, lies, molestation, pedophilia, greed, blasphemous criticism of others and of others faiths and cheating the innocent. Dear Lord, please be merciful unto these persons, they are blinded by their own inner demons which are using them to hurt and destroy others.

Please dearest Lord, help them see the evil in their ways, help them understand the pain and hurt they have caused others and most importantly I beg You to forgive and embrace them too, for no matter how wicked their actions, their deepest desire is Your divine love and forgiveness.

Your love will break the shackles we all wear, please hear my prayer my Lord. I am nothing more than Your insignificant child begging that even if you do not spare my soul, please be merciful to all other.

Amen. Surabhi

Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is one of the most important of Christian festivals, and the one celebrated with the greatest joy. Without Easter there would be no Christianity. Without Jesus' suffering, his execution and subsequent resurrection there would be no Christianity, for however terrible the suffering was, it was part of God's plan for the salvation of humankind.

In Western Christianity, Easter marks the end of Lent, a period of fasting and penitence in preparation for Easter, which begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts forty days (not counting Sundays).

The week before Easter, known as Holy Week, is very special in the Christian tradition. The Sunday before Easter is Palm Sunday and the last three days before Easter are Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday (sometimes referred to as Silent Saturday). Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday respectively commemorate Jesus' entry in Jerusalem, the Last Supper and the Crucifixion.

"Christ the Lord is risen to-day,"
Sons of men and angels say.
Raise your joys and triumphs high;
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply.

Hope you all having an enjoyable blessed spiritual weekend filled with love and charitable offerings.
